With time being such a sensitive issue both up and down. There needed to be an affirmation of tool function prior to running in the hole that didn\'t require reprogramming the tool. The GiST will effectively provide the operator with the confidence that the tool is functioning correctly, especially when paired with the Flow simulator attachment.
The GiST tests Battery BUS, clean power, pulse, flow and gives a graphical display of the gamma if present in the string. Gamma probes can be tested stand alone as well saving the operator from constantly assembling and disassembling the main tool to check function of primary and secondary tools.
